Manifestation of Guru Padmasambhava
"The Great Guru Padmasambhava, in search of a doctrine that could be easily explained and immediately beneficial, traveled to the unsurpassed celestial realm of Dorge Chang.
Here the adibuddha Vajrasattva revealed to the Great Guru all sound as mantra, and all manifestations of body, speech, and mind as enchantment. Learning the Trantras of the Mahayoga, the Guru contemplated the truths blended into one, meditated upon the three samadhis, activated completion through ritual, and obtained the ninth stage of the Bodhisattva.
With this accomplishment, he became known as Urgyen Dorje Chang, the Master from Oddiyana Who Holds the Vajra. Urgyen Dorje Chang is surrounded by scenes of the birth and early life of Padmasambhava.
Dark blue in color, he embraces his consort, indicating the essential unity of opposites. His upraised right hand holds a vajra; his left holds a bell; his consort holds a skullcup filled with the nectar of immortality."
