2013 Tibetan Lunar Calendar

We are entering the Water Snake Year on the Tibetan Calendar. Each month is associated with an animal and an element, and each has its own cycles of auspicious and inauspicious times for making important decisions or initiating new beginnings. Based on ancient traditions for calculating the ebb and flow of energy within the tides of cosmic time, the Odiyan Tibetan Lunar Calendar charts important dates throughout the coming year. These include the traditional Tibetan ceremony days as well as the most auspicious days for traveling, making decisions, having surgery, getting married. and beginning new relationships. Also noted are less stable days when it is best to avoid taking on new projects and making important decisions.

This calendar was created by Thubten Nyima, a Tibetan astrologer who worked on the official Lunar Calendar prepared at the prestigious Tibetan Medical and Astrological Institute in Dharamsala, India.
