Mother of KnowledgePadmasambhava himself said: ‘Male or female - there is no difference. but if she develops the mind bent on enlightenment, to be a woman is better.’ Female energy is especially respected in Padmasambhava’s lineage, having a special place in the enlightened transmission. Yeshe Tsogyal is one of the greatest  in the tradition of those who preserved Tibetan Buddhist texts.

You may recognize the quote above from the Introduction, or perhaps you have another favorite quote from the text. There is no doubt that this is a very powerful book, about an amazing, determined, and devoted student and eventual master of the teachings.
